In Indiana, major political parties nominate most of their candidates for the November election through a primary. Voters must select a Democratic or Republican ballot to participate in the May primary, and the results on this site reflect the outcome for the party’s nominees. Counties may have local public questions (referendum) on the May ballot, and those results are also reported here. A voter may request a "public question only" ballot if the voter does not wish to participate in the Democratic or Republican primary.
